Riso Box a new venture in risograph printing.
What is Risograph?
Risograph prints are produced using a Riso machine, which looks not unlike a photocopier but works like a screenprinter. It uses stencils and spot colours to create tactile and vibrant prints. Like screenprinting you can only print one colour at a time.
Invented to produce high volume prints in the 1980s, and often used by schools, religious groups and political parties. Like many analogue processes it has made a resurgence in the past decade with creatives attracted by its textured, vibrant and unique outcomes. Due to the nature of risograph printing, there is an element of serendipity resulting in no two prints ever being the same.
One of the most environmentally friendly forms of printing. Riso inks are soy based and I only use recycled or FSC sustainable papers.
